1. White moves first, then players alternate turns
2. Click a piece to select it
3. Valid moves will be highlighted in green
4. Click a highlighted square to move your piece
5. Capture opponent's pieces by moving onto their square
6. The game ends when one king is captured
7. If a player has no valid moves, the game is a stalemate
